National Adventure Education Conference

The biggest Adventure Education event each year in Finland is the National Adventure Education Conference. The annual Conference gathers all of the parties interested in Adventure Education in Finland under one roof to discuss the field and generate new perspectives and working methods. The Conference is also significant because of all the networking and communications that take place outside the official programme.

The Conference contains practical workshops and lectures from top experts in the field from both Finland and abroad. The lectures inform conference participants of the latest innovations and give a theoretical foundation to their work.  The Conference programme is assembled based on the feedback received in previous years.

Various working and thematic groups also gather together in association with the Conference to promote nationwide research and development on related topics. The Adventure Education Network Steering Group also meets at this time.

The National Adventure Education Conference has taken place every year since 2007 in Finland, usually sometime during the month of January.
